The World Under the Sea

The design of the new Caribbean Guilder draws inspiration from the "World Under the Sea". Fish swim freely, seeing no borders. This serves as a metaphor for the unity shared between the countries of Curaçao and Sint Maarten within its monetary union.

The Caribbean guilder coin series consists of 7 coins of the following denominations: 1 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 25 cent, 50 cent, 1 guilder, 5 guilder. The coins will circulate interchangeably on Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

One cent

The 1 cent shows the Orange Blossom on the front and reads either “Curaçao” or “Sint Maarten”. The back of the coin shows the denomination and the year of issue.

5 c

Five cent

The 5 cent shows the Orange Blossom on the front and reads either “Curaçao” or “Sint Maarten”. The back of the coin shows the denomination and the year of issue.

10 c

Ten cent

The 10 cent shows the Orange Blossom on the front and reads either “Curaçao” or “Sint Maarten”. The back of the coin shows the denomination and the year of issue.

25 c

Twenty Five cent

The 25 cent shows the Orange Blossom on the front and reads either “Curaçao” or “Sint Maarten”. The back of the coin shows the denomination and the year of issue.

50 c

Fifty cent

The 50 cent shows the Orange Blossom on the front and reads either “Curaçao” or “Sint Maarten”. The back of the coin shows the denomination and the year of issue.

5 Cg

Five Guilder Curaçao

The 5-guilder coins show the effigy of King Willem-Alexander. The Curaçao 5 Cg  shows the island of Curaçao, while the Sint Maarten 5 Cg shows the national coat of arms.

1 Cg

One Guilder Curaçao

The 1-guilder coins show the effigy of King Willem-Alexander. The Curaçao 1 Cg  shows the island of Curaçao, while the Sint Maarten 1 Cg shows the national coat of arms.
